Interview Questions

I have just started the Computer Games Design course and UCS and thoroughly enjoying it so far. During our first weeks we have been shown what is expected from each of us taking part in the course. It's been a great couple of weeks meeting new people (lecturers and students) and getting an overview of the course. At first it appeared quite intimidating but I am comfortable that i have the drive to fullfill my potential.

To fina out a bit about me I have participated in a questionnaire:

1) What is the title of the book (fiction) you are currently reading?
    - I am currently reading 'The Wasp Factory' (1984) written by Iain Banks. I have read this book before and it is one of my real favourites. It features a teenage boy who lives at home with his dad, who has a real passion for torturing animals. Combined with his difficult family situations and lack of things to do, it is obvious to any reader he is a really disturbing character.

2) What is the title/topic of the book (non-fiction) you are currently reading (or the last non-fiction book you read)?
    - The last non-fiction book I read was 'The Ice Man: Confession of a Mafia Contract Killer' (2006) written by Philip Carlo. This is a very dark book. It is based on an interview with one of America's most deadly men, Richard Kuklinski.  During the interview Richard reveals his experiences of being a Mafia contract killer, going into a lot of detail when describing each and every one of the deaths of his victims.

3) What is the last live performance (music, drama or dance) you attended?
   - This would be when I went to see 'We Will Rock You' in London. It was a great experience to see all the old Queen songs being included.

4) What is the title of the last film you saw at the cinema/ online or watched on DVD?
   - The last film i watched was in fact a DVD and it was Tony Scott's 'The Taking of Pelham 123' (2009). Which is one of my all time favourite films featuring Denzel Washington and John Travolta. A great film where John Travolta's character hijacks a train carriage holding several hostages, the narrative follows Denzel Washington's character trying to rescued all who are involved.

5) How often do you read the newspaper?
   - Not nearly enough. don't really have a favourite, i tend to pick up anything that's there. Mostly the 'Metro' as it's easily available when I'm on the train.

6) Which art gallery / museum / exhibition did you last visit?
   - Euro Gamer Expo. Possibly my most favourite trip I have ever been on. It was a great experience as it gave me an opportunity to try out all the new games that soon to be released. Also a great way to start the course, giving even more opportunity to speak to new people.

7) How many hours a week do you spend playing video games?
   - At some stages it averages around 25 hours a week. However if that's not possible due to work or other commitments then it becomes less.

8) How many hours a week do you spend playing games other than video games?
   - Well I play plenty of sports so I guess they count as games. Probably around 10 hours a week I will spend playing games that aren't video games. This may not be board games but I love playing card games. I am a big fan of poker and will play it whenever I get the chance.
